The British Sign Language Bill was introduced by MP Rosie Cooper on 16 June 2021 as a Private Members' Bill. Today, 28 April 2022, the Act recognises British Sign Language as a language of England, Wales and Scotland.

The Alliance today (25/06/2019) welcomed the publication of the new guidance on Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs). This guidance will be crucial in helping health and social commissioners address the needs of children and adults with hearing loss.

The Alliance has today (7th March) welcomed the new guidelines on published by NICE on Cochlear Implants. The guidelines will expand the criteria that health professionals use when determining who is eligible for a cochlear implant within the NHS.
