World Report on Hearing

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published the first-ever World Report on Hearing (WRH).
WHO has said that ear and hearing care were a key priority for all health system and "an investment and the cost of doing nothing is one we cannot afford." It added that WRH aimed for a future in which "no individual experiences hearing loss due to preventable causes, and those with hearing loss can achieve their full potential through rehabilitation, education and empowerment."
WHO has also published a mnemonic H.E.A.R.I.N.G that countries can apply to tackle the serious and growing public health challenges associated with hearing problems.

- Access to technologies
- Rehabilitation services
- Improved communication
- Noise reduction
- Greater community engagement.
