Government confirms commitment to implementing the Action Plan on Hearing Loss
09 November 2019
The Minister for Care, Caroline Dinenage MP responded to a question in the House of Commons on the 29th of October, from the outgoing Chair of the All Party Group on Deafness Jim Fitzpatrick MP, by reaffirming the government's commitment to the Action Plan on Hearing Loss.
Jim Fitzpatrick had noted that the Action Plan " was widely welcomed across the deaf community, as well as in the House, but there is now just a sense in the deaf community that NHS England's commitment to the action plan is somehow waning." He went onto ask for a clear reassurance that this was not the case.
?Caroline Dinenage replied that, "I can give the hon. Gentleman that clear reassurance, and I thank him for his work as chair of the all-party group on deafness."
The Alliance will be following up on these commitments with NHS England following the Election to ensure that the focus on the Action Plan is not lost.
