Alliance calls for adult hearing screening
23 May 2016
The Hearing Loss and Deafness Alliance has called on the National Screening Committee to recommend that everyone should be screened for hearing loss as they get older.
One in six people have hearing loss, rising to nearly three quarters of over 70s, yet people wait ten years on average to seek help. The Hearing Loss and Deafness Alliance has therefore responded to the National Screening Committee's consultation on whether to recommend that screening should be introduced for hearing loss in adults, calling for the best evidence to be taken into account and for screening to be introduced.
