Implementing the Government’s Action Plan on Hearing Loss

Action Plan on Hearing Loss
The Alliance has worked with NHS England to develop the Action Plan on Hearing Loss which establishes a plan for addressing hearing loss and deafness across Government Departments and wider.
One of the main commitments in the Action Plan on Hearing Loss was to co-produce a 'Commissioning Framework' - guidance for health commissioners in England on commissioning services for people with hearing loss. The Alliance is currently working closely with NHS England to co-produce the Commissioning Framework for older people with hearing loss.
Once this is published we will continue to work with NHS England to ensure this is promoted and to sustain a focus on addressing the needs of people with hearing loss and deafness. As part of this work Alliance members are either chairing or supporting a number of working groups established by NHS England to ensure the successful implementation of the Action Plan on Hearing Loss. These groups are;
Early Diagnosis (Chaired by Paul Breckell)
Prevention (Chaired by Clare Forshaw)
Commissioning Framework (Chaired by Fiona Thow)
Research & Innovation (Chaired by Jagjit Sethi)
Data & Quality (Chaired by Forrest Frankovitch)
Living Well (Chaired by Brian Lamb)
They will be working with NHS England and Government Departments to ensure that the measures outlined in the Action Plan on Hearing Loss are taken forward.
